If it was good enough for George Washington, it's good enough for the rest of us. This is my "back yard".

Did you know? From around 8000 BC-1700, the area around Great Falls was an important meeting place for Native Americans, particularly members of the Powhatan Confederacy and the Iroquois Nation.

Enjoy the majestic outdoors at this scenic park just outside of DC. There are 3 outlooks for prime viewing, many trails and picnic areas and a helpful visitor center with an interactive museum.

Wonderful trail to hike on. Plenty of opportunistic areas to hike, fish, or kayak on. Great people surrounded by the wonderful wildlife. Careful of copperheads while rock climbing though.

River Trail is has a lot of gorgeous stopping points to take in the scenery. Even though it's only a few miles, it will take a while to complete. Don't plan to rush through.

Park at Riverbend Park just down the road for free then hike to Great Falls Park via the roughly 2 mile long Mine Run Trail along the river. No fees, same great day!

I parked in the difficult run space off Georgetown Pike. You don't need to pay to get into that one :)
